Chester Bennington is honored with a music video for "Sometimes" by Grey Daze

The band is preparing to release a compilation of old recordings from the vocalist before Linkin Park

At 18, Chester Bennington composed the song "Sometimes" for his then-band Grey Daze . The vocalist, before joining Linkin Park , wrote about wishing for better days, which, in terms of his career, he did have.

Now, years after the recording, the band has shared a sad and moving clip for the track. In it, we hear a woman calling Bennington, saying she's going through a difficult time in her life. "Maybe things will get better," he shouts in the song's chorus, whose lyrics are presented in text message format in the video.

Bennington passed away in 2017, shortly after releasing the album One More Light with Linkin Park and planning to reunite with his Grey Daze bandmates to release a compilation of old recordings, including "Sometimes".

Sadly, he didn't live long enough to see his plans come to fruition, but in his honor, Grey Daze decided to release the collection, titled Amends. The release was scheduled for the 10th, but due to the coronavirus, the plans have been postponed to June 26th.

“Chester was an incredible songwriter since he was 18,” said the band’s drummer, Sean Dowdell, explaining that the track was only released later, when Bennington was 21. “This is one of those songs that, when I listen to it, I feel the pain Chester was living with, especially now that I’m an adult.”
